Vine Dance Company

Students wishing to accelerate their dance technique through extensive performance opportunities as well as challenging choreography may be interested in auditioning for the Vine Dance Company. Vine Dance Company currently meets Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-5:00pm. Students accepted into the VDC will have the opportunity to perform at Vine's yearly Kwanzaa Celebration and the District Dance Showcase at Austin East. In addition, they will perform at any community requests for performances throughout the year. Students chosen for VDC must be focused, able to pick up choreography quickly, and continually work on building strong dance technique. 

The Audition Process

Students wishing to audition for Vine Dance Company must complete and return an audition application prior to the day of the auditions. 

At the auditions students will complete a short warm up before being asked to learn and perform dance combinations in several styles. They will also be required to complete an improvisation exercise. Students will complete both of these activities in small groups. Depending on the number of students auditioning, students may or may not be asked to return for callbacks the following day.
