    Grandparents As Parents  A great resource for grandparents raising their grandchildren. They offer resource help as well as emotional and legal support.     How to Help Kids Sleep

    Food Resources:

    Free and Reduced Lunch/Breakfast  Knox County offers this service for families in need. If you would like assistance in this area, please go to lunchapplication.com  to fill out an application and find out if you qualify.
     
    Food for Kids  Food for Kids is a collaborative effort between Second Harvest and your child’s school. The program is designed to provide healthy, easily-prepared food to children who may be missing meals on a regular basis. These children are discreetly given a backpack full of food for themselves (and any siblings they may have at home) every Friday throughout the school year. Please contact your child’s teacher or school counselor for more information.

    Clothing Resources:

    Shoes For Kids Ball Camp Elementary is able to offer families shoe vouchers through a generous partnership with the Elks Lodge. Children can get one pair of shoes per semester. If your child is in need of shoes, please your child’s teacher or school counselor for more information. 
     
    Knox County Schools Clothing Center PTA Established by PTA schools in the 1930’s, the purpose of this project is to provide Knox County students the clothing needed to attend school on a daily basis. Knox County school children that visit the Clothing Center receive new and gently used clothing.  Please contact your child’s teacher or school counselor for more information. 

     

    Medical/ Mental Health Resources:

    Vine Health Clinic The Vine School Health Center is a full service pediatric clinic located in the Vine Middle Magnet School in Knoxville, TN. They offer health and mental health care as well as psychoeducational services such as educational assessment and targeted interventions.These services are available by appointment for all Knox County students. Most services are available at reduced cost to the families of the student based on a generous fee sliding scale. We bill insurance, including TennCare, for those students who are insured.     Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network  A resource for parents if you or someone you know are having thoughts of suicide.  1-800 -273- TALK(273-8255).  www.tspn.org  (If it is an emergency and someone is in immediate danger from suicide please call 911)
     
    Helen Ross McNabb  Provides mental health counseling as well as, parenting courses to help the family.
