Circulation Policy
Books are circulated for three weeks with the option of renewal if titles have not been requested by a teacher or another student. Patrons may borrow 3 books at a time.Magazines are library use only.Reference books are used in the library, but may be checked out overnight at 3:30 p.m. and returned by 8:30 a.m. the next day.For lost or damaged books, the list price must be paid or a replacement copy must be provided.Library PassesIndividual students are encouraged to use the library often for pleasure reading, research, or working on other assignments. In order to keep the library an academic destination, students must have a teacher note in order to use the library during class times.Computer UsageAll school computers are intended for EDUCATIONAL USE ONLY. Therefore, the following rules apply at all times:- Any student who wishes to access the Internet must have a signed Guidelines for Acceptable Use of Electronic Media agreement form on file.
- Students are not allowed to use personal email, play computer games, or use computers in any way that is inconsistent with Knox County Schools’ policies.
- Violating the Knox County Acceptable Use Policy on the South Doyle High School computers is a suspendable offense and can result in loss of library privileges. This includes:
- Changing the desktop or any computer settings
- Adding, deleting, or altering programs
- Viewing inappropriate sites
- Downloading/playing games not specifically assigned by a teacher
- Bypassing the filter*
*Filtering is required by all Knox County Public Schools.Resources- Printer
- PERIODICALS--Over a dozen magazines and newspapers available in hard copy; many more available through TEL databases.
- 3D Printers -- Students may print designs for classes, as well as creations of their own made on TinkerCAD or Fusion 3D. Students interested in learning more can visit Mr. McLees with questions!
- Spheros & CoDrones. -- Coding can be used to control these robots. Students are encouraged to explore their use!
