• General Procedures

    Our library is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 - 3:30.  

    All students must have a Library Pass when they visit without their class.

    In the mornings from 8:00-8:25 we have Open Library (Tues - 6th grade, Wed - 7th grade, and Thur -8th grade) when any student may come (with a library pass) to check books in and out, use the computers, enjoy our puzzles or games and engage in some social time before the school day begins.  Mondays and Fridays from 8:00-8:25 we call "all business days" because students are only checking books in and out or working on school projects.  This day gives students the opportunity to acquire reading materials for the weekends or finish up an projects from the past school week.

    From 8:30-3:30 we are busy with the business of school, but also allow individual student visits (with a library pass). Students may return a book on their way out of school with no pass required.
     
    Students are required to follow all school and library expectations during their visit.
     
    At KMS students use their Student ID numbers to check out books. 
     
    NO GUM...EVER!  Also, do not bring food or drinks into the library. 
     
     

    Circulation Policies

    Students may check out 2 books. These books circulate for 2 weeks. Books can be renewed up to 2 times.

    Any book that is stolen, lost, or damaged beyond repair will be paid for by the student who checked out the book.

    Students have plenty of opportunities to return books during the school day (see General Procedures above).  It is your responsibility to bring them back on time.  Regular trips to the library with your class are not in the middle school schedule.
