Speaking of text messages, NJHS uses a great text messaging service to bring members important announcements about meeting dates, meeting changes and service opportunities. It is a free service called Remind used by many Knox County teachers to keep in touch with students and parents.  All NJHS members and their parents are encouraged to sign up for messages by following these simple steps: Text 81010 with the message @17a38  If you have trouble signing up following these steps, try sending the same message to (865) 238-2193. Your cell phone number will automatically be enrolled to receive important text messages from Mrs. Miller. She won't be able to see your number, and numbers will not be given out to any third parties. You will receive automatic reminders about monthly meetings, as well as announcements about events and service opportunities. Of course, students should have parent's permission before signing up, especially if they do not have an unlimited text message plan. Parents are also encouraged to email Mrs. Miller at kathleen.miller@knoxschools.org to sign up for the parents' email group. Information about community service opportunities and upcoming events is sent out to this email group.
