Commercial Bank “Life. Mad Better” Scholarship
One $2500 “Life. Made Better” Scholarship winner will be chosen from all applications received from schools in our bank’s footprint. In order to qualify for this scholarship, students should complete the online application, be eligible for either free and reduced lunch or the Pell Grant, have a GPA of at least 3.0, be involved in at least 2 extracurricular activities, submit an original essay, and share a recommendation letter.

Bearden High School Foundation Scholarships for Seniors
The Bearden High School Foundation awards several scholarships for seniors, including:
Creative Arts--This scholarship is awarded to a senior who is pursuing continuing education in the creative arts venues of theater, music, or visual arts. This individual will exhibit a strong work ethic and will have strived for perfection in his/her area of expertise.
Achiever--This scholarship is awarded to a senior who has overcome a physical/mental disability, displayed an exemplary work ethic, and intends to pursue additional education or training in an area of employment.
Technical--This scholarship is awarded to a senior who has demonstrated a high aptitude in a particular area of technical study and will pursue continuing education in that area of study. This may include computer science, engineering, or science focus areas.
Servant Leader--This scholarship is awarded to a senior who has demonstrated the ability to effectively lead and empower others to achieve and lead through selfless service to others for the betterment of the Bearden campus and the community at large. The award seeks to acknowledge a high school leader, not necessarily in title, but through action while humbly exhibiting the qualities of a true servant leader.
Striver Technology Award--This scholarship is awarded to a senior who has striven for excellence while holding down a job, in order to help themselves or their family make ends meet. This individual will have a strong work ethic and a desire to continue their education (there may be more than one awarded).

Susan G. Hinton Scholarship
This scholarship is given in memory of Susan G Hinton, a devoted wife, mother, and volunteer in our school and community who passed away suddenly in 1997. Susan G Hinton exemplified the volunteer spirit and made a distinct difference everywhere she served. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize the efforts of a Bearden High School Senior who has made a difference in his or her school and community through volunteer service; and assist that student with his or her qualified education expenses in the amount of $500.00.
